Illimited Tracks in ProTools 7.4.2 ?

Hello,

A friend of mine had bought the Digi 003 Factory (so with plug ins degidesign) and it seems that with the update 7.4.2 (for Leopard) he can have a lot more tracks available in his Pro Tools LE, even illimited it seems...

Someone heard something about that ?

I'm running the same version and I'm limited to 32 track. Well, 32 'voiced' tracks. So far as I know, you've always been able to create more tracks than can be voiced, it's just that only 32 can pass audio at a time. In 7.4.2, and probably previous versions, you can create 128 mono audio tracks which is the LE limit, of course only 32 pass audio at a time.

Illimited goes beyond unlimited, once this feature
is being checked in PT, your computer will generate a virtual
black hole, but unfortunately this feature is MAC-only!

Michael Kael may very well be a non-English speaker. Give the guy a break. We all know what he meant to say.

Plus, "Illimited" sounds like a great hip hop album title. Or maybe even a band name.

Actually, I didn't.

I thought he was maybe trying to say 'Illuminated', meaning you could have as many 'in-active' tracks in PT (up to 128?) but only 32 'active' tracks (minus the Melodyne tip of course)

Daamn funny!

Indeed funny "illimited" but we got it what he meant!!

One thing i can add, i really really doubt that one day (in a near future) Digi will ever Unlock ProTools Le or Mp-powered to run unlimited tracks!! I believe that it won't happen soon!!!!

perhaps crippling software for marketing means should be the definition of "illimited".
