| Hi all, there's a new RODE pro shotgun in town, the NTG-3. I've got one and I think it's going to give many other big guns some serious competition. |

In your experience how does this guy compare to the other Rodes shotguns? And (if you have experience with both) do you think this can be used 416 style for VOs? The others didn't have that mojo...

| Hi macmod, well I was in pro sound in Sydney for 46years, the last 30 with our own production studios in St. Leonards. Way back then it was all analogue of course, happy times in those days. I worked at Radio 2UE then NBN TV Newcastle then Natec Sound then our own company. No multi-tracking, all up to mono to start then multi tracking came along. I'm currently program producer for the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society here. Our Super Constellation has 12,000 HP on take off. I needed a great shotgun with heaps of SPL and the NTG-3 is handling it well. Hi Matt, and thanks. The G3 is indeed a major step up from the NTG-1 and 2. I think it can outgun a 416 and be used all over the place. Check the specs out. I know Pete Freedman and the guys at Rode and the adv is all correct in my opinion. |
