Formatting is the most important part of selling samples. Raw samples are a pain in the ass for the user and are significantly less appealing.

My advice:

Kontakt, Battery and Drumagog are the most important.

For $75, I can't afford NOT to have them. I'll even take a Direct Download....no DVD's for me....and you save on pressing and shipping.

If I'm going to take the time to format them for Drumagog and Battery I'm going to stick the price up to $99, still a fair deal I feel.

Direct Downloads?

I wonder if anybody knows a good way to do direct downloads, 8 or so gigs is kinda big although I can make it all a .dmg file which makes it almost half the size, and how would you protect the files from people just stealing them, passwords? Have to keep changing them though I guess, hmmmm......
Any ideas anyone?

Set up an FTP server on a computer in your studio, or you can rent virtual hard drive space.

hey andy!

i like the sample clips that i hear on the site.... i was wondering if you could try and give some sort of breakdown of the types of drum sounds that are included?

most of the music i work with is harder stuff... ranging from 'post hardcore' to metal, etc.... i have the steven slate samples which i like a lot, but lately ive been looking for some samples that sound a little more 'raw' and 'less produced'. basically i just dont want to be disappointed if i pull the trigger and most of the kits turn out to be jazzy kits or something haha. think you could post up a little summary or something? i know it'll be a good deal regardless and if i had more money in my pocket at the moment i probably wouldnt care that much but student loan payments suck...

cool product for sure, thanks for making these available!

Thanks man,
They're all from rock bands as that's what i mainly do, basically they ARE a less produced version of Steven Slate's samples, his sound like they could have been taken at the end of a mix, mine were taken just before tracking drums, before they were tweaked into the forthcoming mix if you know what I mean. I'll try and post some more when I get a moment, just trying to find the time to do it!!!
Andy.

I just use the samples in a production, and I must say "they rock....."

Great addition to the steven slate drums

Steven Slate's are more processed and more "mix ready". These are very good raw recorded drum sound.
I could bring them in, just like an aditional recorded track and put it through my parrallels, groups,....

With the Steven Slate samples I add them in addition to my mixed drums, as I usualy don't process the
Slate Samples twice.

And as always, more choice and more coulours.....

+1

for some things the slate samples are almost too processed/slick.I gotta dumb em down sometimes, especially the hi's on the kick drums..lots of click/attack which is fine for the more modern stuff but not always appropriate for the more retro type vibe
Andy's samples are a nice contrast to that.
I also have a lot of good outboard .
Yeah, lately i'm leaning more on rawer sounds and doing my own custom tailored processing/mults,etc on console channels.
I gotta say, these sounds are really good,

Im tempted to jump on these so I can practice processing raw drum tracks. I got Addictive drums which are also fairly raw sounds but I cant quite make them sound as fat and radio sounding as the Slate stuff. Im using the Sony Oxford EQ and Waves SSL EQ and comp. From what I know, these are good EQ and compresor plugins. I dont know what to use to mimic the slight tape saturation.

It might be easier to work with these Andy Reily sounds over the Addictive drums because they are already in GOG format. Andy, were any of these recorded to 2-inch tape? Your demos sound good dude!
