"overseas"? since when is "overseas" a place?

"nothing to hide"??? why are you hiding it then??

I was interested in this mic from the title of this thread alone, but yeah, I have been seriously put off.

I have no problem if a mic is made in china, hell, I'll even buy stuff made in the USA.

What I wouldn't like is to have to deal with a company that doesn't respect is customers.

Nice on guitars though.

Will it be available in Europe? The Netherlands in particular.

At some point in time, we'll get some other samples up on the website. Like I said before, these ones were given to us by the guys in Umphrey's McGee. I'll see what I can come up with.

Oh, and it is available in Europe.

Ian, although I'm just echoing others' concerns, I really think you've made a right mess of unveiling your new product.

It's annoyed me slightly how you've been so disrespectful and evasive to people who were showing an interest in what you're selling. Just doesn't make sense.

PR is a tough game, perhaps you're not the right man for the job?

All the best

This was not a PR thing, this was a "hey guys, check this out" post. Again, I did not want the thread to end up going in a bad direction (though it did anyway). The problem is that people hear "China" and a good portion of the time won't even give a product a chance because of it, regardless of what parts are actually made there. They instantly think that it is poor quality, which isn't always the case. I just wanted people to give it a chance before dismissing it because it wasn't completely American-made. Is that so wrong of me? The other issue is once they know that some parts of the M80 are not American it becomes "there's Telefunken trying to pull the wool over our eyes again," and "wow, just like the M16, Telefunken is trying to pull a fast one." Even in threads dealing with the AK47, someone inevitably brings up the M16 debacle, and I didn't want this thread to go there. I wanted to keep the discussion positive and most of the time the word "china" brings in a slew of negative comments. Do you see where I'm coming from?

Even though you can't control other people's reactions you can control your own. If people want to dismiss a good product because it's made in China then it's their loss, no? All you can do is give people the facts honestly and hope that potential customers will make buying decisions based on what they hear.

Why would any principled person care if prejudiced and racist consumers are buying their products anyway?

So I take it you own this good product. Please give me your review about how good it is. I didn't dismiss it...I asked a question because I was interested. Since when did asking where a product is made make you a rascist?

Bee,

I was responding to Ian's response. Not yours. Sorry for the confusion.

To answer your question--no, I don't own this mic. I'd like to try it though despite all the mess here. A good mic is a good mic.

This mic might be interesting. But with this behaviour of donīt telling where it is made, it could be the best of all times and I still wonīt ever buy it.
