Looks like the Waves Thang is catching.

It's just another De-esser anyways....

This is far from the "Waves mentality". McDSP's only charging the difference in cost between the Emerald Pack 2.0 and the Emerald Pack 3.0 for current Emerald pack owners, which is a whopping $175. Not only do you get all 3 new plug-ins but you also get all the latest versions of the existing product line. A heck of a deal any way you slice it.

Also, these plug-ins are not just available for Emerald Pack owners. You can buy a single plug-in license for any of the McDSP plug-ins. Personally, I think the Emerald Pack is worth every penny and all the plug-ins are extremely useful and sound great. However, if you're only interested in a single plug-in (or maybe two or three) we can definitely take care of you.

This was announced way back. I've been looking forward to this update, and their de-esser. It's going to be fun to put it up against the Eiosis and Sonnox SuprEsser

The Sonnox DeEsser looks great, but I need something that works cross platform - didn't even try it as I'm afraid of falling in love. McDSP impressed the hell out of me with Compressor Bank and Analog Channel, haven't been too big on their newer jazz, not to mention the interface drives me nuts... I'm holding out for the Massey!

Guys, stop moaning. Read first...

From their site:
"The new plug-ins will be available individually (electronic download only) and as part of the McDSP Emerald Pack HD and Emerald Pack Native bundles as an upgrade ($195 HD / $95 Native for owners of Emerald Pack version 2)."

Wow... We're so different

For a great de-esser, check out Eiosis if you don't dare try the Sonnox or McDSP. I'm going to put these three against each other the coming days, and maybe throw in the Dynamic Spectrum Mapper just for the helluvit

McDSP and Waves

You know I am so happy to know there is alternatives to these money hungry plug in sellers.

Its not like you can't find a cheaper or as good alternative. The plug ins they sell are not all that. Hardware still kicks all of them in the arsh..

I can't believe these companies are not trying to help the cause. "Making music" Creativity.

All all about making the $$ and screwing the artist over.

Its snake oil.

McDsp isn't one of those companies. sorry but I love all their stuff and its very well priced when you consider everything you get in the emerald bundle.

posted this in computers also.

Wow. Just downloaded the 3 new plugs from McDsp for $95 upgrade to my emerald bundle. The de-esser is sick. I love it. Its very flexible and after playing with it for a couple minutes I am confident it will be a daily driver for me. You can really zero in with accuracy that I don't think I could achieve with something like Rdesser. I love being able to increase/decrease the q width. Really keeps things intact because its more accurate. Kinda like shooting a rifle with a scope vrs one without. Its just nice and clear without the stuffiness of some other de-essers. The futzbox is bad ass and provides so many cool affects from lofi sources like telephone but not just telephone. They have settings for intercom, modern telephone, old phone, cell phone, boombox. etc...!!!!! Definitely a mojo plug. Lots of fun. The filter plug is equally amazing. I tend to EQ my vocals by making notch filters and cutting instead of boosting frequencies so the noise filter is right up my alley. Like the Desser it has a very flexible Q. Once again a daily driver for me. Best $95 I've spent in a while. I love McDsp.

They would probably score more money too if they made it available for other platforms other than PT.

that would be the cherry on top for me as I jump between logic and protools alot. Wouldn't mind stayin in logic a little longer. I need a source for that rumor. Last time I got all excited for nothing.

How about Colin McDowell as source? Last time I asked him about it he said just to be patient as they have a BIG product line. McDSP is in my eyes simply not a company that will stress into making something half-assed.

I asked him about it when Massey canned his project since rumors started floating around that McDSP had done the same, and even that it was the evil Digidesign empire that was the source of it. Colin assured me they were indeed still in the making but it seemed to be a fair bit away as you say.

Thanks

I haven't heard anything new but I hope it will be released soon. I can't wait to compare it to McDSP, Sonnox, Eiosis, and even Pro Audio DSP!
