| fantastic plug in I have the URS saturation which I like but the Voxengo VariSaturater is capable of a lot more but can be quite complexed to use at first.the sound is top notch as to be expected from Voxengo. its really exciting to see this for the mac platform and I hope his hardwork pays of. |

| This plugin is clearly a MUST-HAVE ! The sound is gorgeous, and the two bands/two saturations modes processing is awesome. Added to that the fact that you can process the audio in Mid/Side mode, it's really a joy to use. Congrats |

| It can do a similar vibe to the URS and a lot more however the cpu usage is much higher unlike the URS which is really easy on the cpu I like them both very much. |

| To my ears it sounds better than the URS and is more flexible. A no brainer for 55 bucks in my opinion.

| Lives for gear | i tested it on a mix today. a/b with the plugin on vs off... it added a glue and a polish to the track that i liked and is rather easy on cpu

| After trying it on a drum bus I have to buy this plugin! Smooth, indeed. Glad to hear it compares nicely to URS, too. Way to go, Voxengo! |

| I am tempted, as I am with all Voxengo plug-ins. Then I was thinking, HEDD 192, PSP VW, Magneto, acusticaudio. How many of these are there? This is probably the best for the money, though. |

| Yep. It's been on demo for a few days now, and I must say, Voxengo delivered with this one. I got testy, and inserted Voxengo Warmifier and VariSaturator together(in that order) on a synth track....I'm SOLD.

| Demo-ed it as well, but still prefer PSP MixSaturator for tape emulation. But I guess this isn't 100% for tape emulation. Perhaps I should demo that other plugin.

Another one worth trying is TbT TLs Saturated Driver, it's freeware, although it is more of a driven compressor/limiter. I like it on synths. Tin Brooke Tales Software projects ![]() ![]() | |

| Is Varisaturator supposed to be in the same category as Oxford Inflator and UAD Precision Maximizer?

| Lives for gear | I like that it can be subtle and that you can change the sampling rate on the fly (and the CPU hit, as a result). i could definitely hear differences between 1x and much higher rates. I am not a big consumer of 'these types' of plugins/processors. It is a great price for the quality, I'll definitely say that...but I'm not yet sure why i'd 'need' this plugin. I tried it on several different things last night - 2bus, drum master, OH bus, bass gtr, etc., etc. The 1 place where I found it to be a great value was on an organ (hammond + leslie) track. It really brought out the high frequency transients for this particular track. I can see it being useful of synth tracks as well. At the end of the day, I wonder what this can do that I can not already do with my outboard and/or UAD-1 plugs. I need to experiment more. But, if you do not already have something similar, I think this is a no-brainer at this price! PS - I think the color 'themes' and the ability to change the size of the controls is a fantastic touch. Little extras like this go a long way towards making a plugin that already has plenty of competition stand out.
