| I wonder if the ethernet connection and routing is part of the problem when some lag is occuring. Is there any knowledge on how the ethernet communication works? If it is using the tcp/ip stack to send data to the console and back? |

| I Like the desk you got there, is that a customer of one of the Argosy's? See the new MCU Pro's would look quite slick in that..wonder if Argosy will bring out a MC version. How do they compare on the editing side (tweaking plugs etc.) to the Mackies with Logic, also with the ergonomics are they more intuitive to get around?

I believe it's Logic what is causing the delay and not the MC. I am using an ethernet port directly to an MC with nothing else on the network.

ethernet is super fast and works great. I would think its more EUCON communitcating with other software creating the lag. I cant wait to get the mc control!!!!

| so if you have 2 MC mix's and an MC Control, do you buy a router and connect one cat 5 cable to your NIC, and then plug the MC's into the router via 3 cat 5 cables, 1 per unit? gotta check this out a little more, they sure look nice

| Trock, for routing it would have to be 3 cables to router.... router to computer. There's no ethernet link or thru lines on the MC stuff. |

| FYI for anyone interested the manual for the MC Mix is up on the Euphonix site. Very informative read. I placed my order for the Mix -- swapping out my Mackie Pros... Very excited to get the MC Control when it's available for those soft keys. Free |

Thank you for writing. At current time, Euphonix Eucon would work alongside DP 5.13 with the Mackie/HUI Emulation drivers. I can also verify that it will be fully supported with the upcoming DP6 and by this time should run natively with its own drivers.

| SORRY!!! False alarm. They only got the MC Mix units, not the MC Control.

| Gear addict | So after a few days of playing I have to say...these will be really really cool in a few months after some upgrades. I really like the surface itself, and it seems to work great. The integration with Logic needs some major work. The latency with plugins and adding tracks is really bad. There is also some major latency while working on automation in the arrange window. I am aslo having a problem the the MC Mix following the tracks I select in the arrange window. I have to bank the units to get to the fader. If this is an oversight I have to say these may go back to the dealer. The Mackies will follow the tracks I select in the software. The MC Mix just site there. I do love the switch between Logic and ProTools. It is fast and seamless. I have hooked these up through my airport router and will be picking up a new router to hook up directly to see if that might be the problem for the Latency I will report back tomorrow after a new router and a call to tech support. |

| Another benefit of these being more widely adopted is that the Mackie's will become cheaper and much easier to find on ebay. Good thing for us low-enders.

| You can do it manually and it's not exactly difficult. |

| mcmix and PTHD Ok this thing just arrived today(mcmix) alot bigger than i thought and its very well built and the faders feel great. The website had great information on how to set it up using pro tools but nothing in the manual that was shipped. Right now i use a command 8 for writing volumes and I hate that i can not put a fader in write mode without using the mouse thats why i might make this switch. Well so far i can not get this to work on the MCMIX either but i will continue trying to figure it out. When I hit the shift key and the auto button it displays that im in read mode and the manual say click again to switch modes but it is not happening. no fader lag its very responsive display is great but i guess in HUI mode we only get 4 characters one cool feature is locking a fader so lets say lead vocal is on fader 1 u can lock it so when you bank over it always stays I will keep testing this thing and post more feedback. It has a way to load custom layouts if anyone can find a pro tools lay out for me please post!!! aa Aaron |

| mc mix first impressions Hi, Got my MC yesterday. Using with a PPC dual2.5 G5 / OS10.4.10 PTHD7.4cs2 / Logic 7.2 It's REALLY SLOW!! As soon as you get a medium sized session, especially in Logic, its spinning wheels the whole way.... Creating a track / renaming or moving are the worst, but changing output & moving around the session are bad too. Just hitting play takes longer & with Logic the screen keeps moving, bouncing up to the top half of the window for no apparent reason... Logic 8 is on its way, so perhaps with that it'll be amazing, anyone loving L8 with DAE on a PPC? I'm a bit nervous as I'm finally loving 7.2 & it's super stable... Looks nice though, and the layout is good, but I've turned it off while writing, its just too annoying.... Anyone else? |

The artist series is recommended for use with 8.0.1 and later. In fact, I don't think Eucon was even built into Logic until 8...I'm having a great time with a dual 2 GHz PPC and Logic 8.0.1 and two MC Mix's. Track addition is a bit slow, but I got an email from tech support that it's going to be addressed in a later release.

| Gear addict | I hope these issues are fixed quickly! This thing has amazing potential but it still to slow!!!! |

| Gear Head | Really though, for all purposes besides adding tracks, it's awesome! I mean, editing plugins, editing EQ's, editing instruments, mixing, I'm having a blast!

| Gear addict | Well... I had to take them down and put the Mackies back up. They are really to slow for everyday work in a working studio. The Mackies are instant on everything. so I guess the answer on Eucon being way faster than midi is a moot point right now till Apple and Euphonixs get these worked out. Mine are going back to the dealer today, till I can see the same speed in Logic as running with the Mackies. I will wait a few upgrades, Sick of paying companies to a beta tester. Plus there is never anyone at the tech support number I keep calling. |

| Running it in LE under HUI mode.... all good. Added Logic 7.2 to the list of apps last night and it came up under HUI mode also, as did FCP, but didn't actually open any sessions with it active. Going to bite the bullet and get Logic 8. Will post anything that comes up. As a side point, one client commented on the "sexy little silver thing" on the desk. Then when they saw the Euphonix badge they were even more impressed because "doesn't the Sydney Opera House have a Euphonix mixer?" |
