i don't know that this is a known bug. My bluetooth works fine (i'm using both the mouse and the keyboard) but somehow switching the discovery feature off helps with the stability of the issue.

i'm about to install the update. Hopefully it will help things a lot here. Like i've stated before i like the MC Mix. I still wonder why these things were released before these major issues were worked out. To be fair, Euphonix is not the only manufacturer guilty of this trend.

Just installed 1.1.1. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No glitches or dropouts. As a matter of fact, the faders are snappier when you change banks!! It's working like a charm. Needless to say, very pleased!! Thanks Euphonix.

EuControl v1.1.1

Phew!! After 2 weeks of frustration, this update *seems* to have solved my control issues with Protools. Crossed fingers.....

Even though i have had to send my MC Mix back due to a hardware failure (hopefully it will be replaced) I would like to say that the French phone support was excellent and reassuring. Most phone support services in France suck but Euphonix got it right. :)

I must admit , even though I read this thread before ordering an MC Mix, I couldn't resist the punt. So far it hasn't worked out but I am still optimistic. Once they get the MC Mixsussed the MC control will be ordered :) TBH I really hope they do. I love the design and foot print. Fingers crossed Ableton Live will get the eucon experience too.

I'm gonna give mine a Louis Vuitton pattern and gold side panels and fader knobs.

I love that the faders stay put when you switch to other applications like Finder, etc...

THANKS EUPHONIX!!!

It sure seems that the boys and girls at Euphonix listen to these forums, so here goes nothing:

"PLEASE MAKE AN OPTION TO TURN THE FADERS ON/OFF.....pretty please."

It would just be sooooo nice and convenient sometimes... fingers crossed.

for anyone interested, I found a nice little workflow that works well with ProTools and the Euphonix stuff:

Use Markers that store Show/Hide Track data.

This places the tracks that you want on the surface quickly without banking,etc... it works almost like the layouts in EuControl, but is saved in the ProTools session.

Come On In,the Waters Fine........

Mixed all day in protools and had a great time. (the music was damn good too)
The plug in editing is great with digi or third party plug-ins,
the send levels, banking and nudging, automation toggle all good now.
Logic 8 is soooo much better now (we still need an apple update though) but I can finally use it in a real world session. Hooking up workstation #2 with Final Cut Studio to the system next week to check out the dual workstation mode.

WHEN THE MC CONTROL ARRIVES...................THIS IS GONNA BE SICK!!!

Putting it thru the paces w/ Protools and Eucon v. 1.1.1

Excited about the possibilities. Need a little less buggy though. I've crashed PT and the MC once, and twice I've lost communication with the MC. All inside about 2 hours. Had to restart PT and after the crash had to cold boot the mac.

Seems to occur mostly when I'm messing with plug-ins and using the back button. This past time, the MC screen wasn't updating but I was pressing solo, mute etc and it would change PT (but nothing on the MC screen changed)

Hoping there is a 1.1.2 coming soon that is more stable with PT.

Rashadrm, did you have any issue like this when you were mixing today?

I'm on PTHD3, 7.3, OSX 10.4.9....

Once the bugs are out.. man.. I've owned two ICONS and while this isn't nearly an ICON.. for the money it sure does a lot.

I didnt have any issues like that today, it was a really smooth session, I'm sure euphonix will continue to implement more features down the line but I can use the mixes for work now .
I'm using a PTHD3, 7.4 OSX 10.4.11. Running on a dual 2.7 G5 PCIx for music and a Dual 2.3 G5 PCIe for video.

I think that there are just too many variables today that its hard to keep up.
OSX 10.3/ 10.4/ 10.5... PTle /HD /7.3 7.4 /Logic 7, 8 G5- macpro- Intel PCIx-PCIe..... the list goes on and on...... so more and more we'll have unique system bugs.

for me, logic runs different in native mode with apogee converters under leopard than when I use the DAE under tiger etc...

Its hard to resist a good update wether it be hardware or software, but now more than ever, whatever your workstation consists of, once you get your system stable, stick with it, and update with caution.

Imagine what it would do if ProTools would use Eucon protocol!

Well, I installed the update. I have been working in Pro Tools since this morning, and my MC Mix just crashed as I was looking at gearslutz. Also, I am now having problems getting it to scroll thru banks. Anyone else having this problem?

Update

When installing EuControl 1.1.1, make sure you UNINSTALL previous EuControl versions before updating, and you update firmware AND software.

When running firmware updater, it is imperative that power to the MC Mix or Control is uninterrupted during the update process.

Its really a good thing that Euphonix is giving users the opportunity to give their unique feedback as everyone gets their systems tweaked out. Given the fact that they are being hit with so many different setup scenarios, I think they have responded well.

Smile Mine on the way, too

Yup, my MC Control is on the way, also. I can't wait to play with this thing.

I agree that Euphonix seems to be doing a very good job ironing out wrinkles in this new hardware. I expect less than perfection out of the box, but from what I've read I don't think I have much to worry about if things need fixing.

New gear!

from years of buying gear - it always seems that new gear, especially in the age of digital audio, has its initial "settling period" - then you have to add the never ending "compatibility" war: new processors, new OS, new DAW versions, new bus architecture, new sample-rates, new plug-in formats, new everything.

Nothing is a completely isolated solution that works 100%, 100% of the time anymore.

These cats at Euphonix are brave, and hopefully more and more of the Digital Audio world will accept EuCon as a means of control... (Digidesign ???)

two thumbs up for Euphonix here!

Oh. Bummer, I didn't uninstall before updating 1.1.1. Is there anything I can do to correct this, after the fact?

NOTE TO EUPHONIX: The first thing I did when I opened the 1.1.1 DMG is check for release notes. Since none were provided it seems like (as many others have obviously done) "upgrading" (instead of uninstalling/re-installing) was acceptable.

Please provide release notes that include a "method" section. Telling us to make sure the previous install is uninstalled after the fact is shortsighted.

-----

Now, that being said I have had 0 trouble since my 1.1.1 (and 1.3.0 firmware), self-proclaimed botched, install. ;)

Used the thing all week without issue. Not a single Logic disconnect. Lovin' it!

Digi is understandably all about Digi's sales. Maybe more brutally than some, but they have created a very successful business model. Since the Euphonix controllers, both big and small, directly compete with Digi's own controllers, don't expect to ever see Eucon in Pro Tools. Just a reality of the business.

I'm hugely interested in that..
Do you confirm i.ex. that knobs in "Channel Mode", and Flip Key.. are working in PT?

I already have 2 mc-mix, building home studio, thinking about getting PTHD[2 or 3] instead of logic8.
