| I just want to say - again - that from how I experienced the team of Euphonix, on phone and personally, I´m still very confident in the company and the Artist series. If I would have been satisfied with Mackie, I would have bought them years ago. To wait a couple of months until things are sorted out here doesn´t really hurt. No problem with patience here .. david |

| My Euphonix arrived today - it is my first ever midi controller I am using it with Ableton Live. So far it is only recognising the first 8 channels, dunno if this is a limitation of mackie mode or a bug. Any ideas? |

| huh I have been keeping up with this thread after a small - i think warranted - rant and have got to say that i am happy to see more than one individual come out about the issues they are having. For a while i thought myself and another slut were the only ones with issues. The response from Euphonix seems to have been accelerated probably due to this thread. I'll probably try the mc mix/control again sometime next year, once all the issues have been worked out. I really like the MC Mix. Orlando |

I did. I ended up, re doing it all from scratch and was ok. However,it is now fooked. I cant even switch the unit on. Just wondering, can you switch on the unit without a connection to the mac? I have tried to check if it is hardware problem and it doesn't light up (the power block light is on) so there is juice going into the controller. Would you be so kind to try it and let me know if the controller at least switches on please with the network cable removed.

However in my case my first MC Mix had major power issues. After only a couple hours of use and repeated lockups and restarts of the unit, the unit stopped turning on (It should indeed turn on without the cat5 cable attached) and I had to get a new unit. If the AC is fully plugged in and it doesn't start up, call Euphonix (or return it to your retailer). Free

| Thanks for the info guys. Looks like the unit has bricked. I called tech support this morning and they confirmed that there is a power unit issue so I am sending it back :( |

| It looks like, on top of the software bugs, there's a hardware reliability problem... I hope Euphonix will improve this in the coming batches. Anyone got a chance to test the MC control yet? Cheers |

| Hi. I just got my unit (MC Mix) and just toying around with it. It seems there is no way to adjust what kind of tracks it shows or define BANKS of tracks you can nudge/bank through? For instance I would like to set it up so it only controls my Audio+Bus tracks and not follow my selections in Logic, and giving me the ability to bank through the exact tracks I want to control. This seems impossible at the moment. The only thing I can do is to assign it to 8 specific tracks and that's it?! I hope they change this in an update... |

Then go into the Aux mode to control busses. No matter how you bank the locked tracks will stay there. You can even name and save the fader lock setup with your logic project. Then when you have multipel layouts or "lock setups" you can switch between them like banking. RTFM

Right, but that's not what I am asking. I would like to assign, say, 20 specific tracks to the MC Mix that I can then bank through as I want, without having to go through the tracks I don't need. As far as I know you can't bank through layouts (EuCon layouts).

| BTW anyone got MC Mix working with Logic 7.2.x? I can't seem to make it work. It doesn't show Logic in Eucon control panel and obviously Logic doesn't recognize it either. |

| Hello, The very well working EUPHONIX support send me today (05.05.2008) this message: "We're releasing the combination firmware/software update in a couple of days that will fix this problem and many others. You can let your customer know that it will release this week!" By the way, I came from Mackie Pro Controls (4 Units). And I'm happy about my 2 MC MIX and the coming MC Control. Sometimes The MC MIX Loose the Connections under Logic Studio (EUCON 1.0.4). So I have had to go again in The EUCON Setup but they are not gone (like the Mackies). And sometimes I've the Fader Shake Problem.... But they working very fast (miles away from mackie for me). I Hope they fix the Problems..... ![]() |

| BTW another issue. Almost every time I boot my Mac up I get the "couldn't bla bla, turn the unit off bla bla" message, and I have to turn it off, back on again and go into the Eucontrol and add the device to the list, then it works again. I have the unit connected directly to my Mac Pro's Ethernet 2 port. Any clues? |

| Oh here's a real bummer... I did just a little testing with the unit and the movement of the faders when playing back is totally unacceptable. With just two faders moving it makes a lot of noise because it only updates maybe 3-4 times a second, so instead of a lot of fine movement I get a few big steps Anyone else getting non-smooth fader movement? This is in Logic 8 btw. |

| OK I found a fine solution for this is just to not let the MC Mix follow the track selection in the host program. This way I have a much better control over which tracks to automate or not:) |

Because you did not respond to my PM, I am addressing your concerns publicly. Download and install 1.0.4 from our website. Make sure the disc that shipped with your MC Mix is not in your disc tray. If the disc was in your disc tray, uninstall EuControl. Remove the disc, then install 1.0.4 Upgrade Logic to 8.0.1 Make sure your Artist Series control surface is connected to Ethernet port 1 on your Macintosh. If you are still experiencing issues, prioritize Ethernet port 1 in your network settings. For trouble shooting purposes, do the following: Check the Euphonix preference pane and set Ethernet port 1 as your Network Interface. Disable Airport. This week we will be releasing EuControl 1.1.1, which will work with MC Mix and MC Control. This release is a combination firmware/software release, and addresses issues some users have experienced with fader movement and accuracy. It also speeds performance with Logic 8.0.1, and contains many other feature implementations and bug fixes. Going forward, please contact me via PM or at my personal email address-which I sent you via PM-with any questions or concerns. Best Regards, JC Haydon Product Specialist Euphonix Inc

Then use the 48 layouts to call up the tracks you want when you need them... this is really not that hard.

| Hi JC. I did write you an email shortly after I got your message here (great support btw!). 1.0.4 was installed as you describe, I am using the newest Logic etc. But I will try changing ethernet ports and connect the Mix to port 1 instead of 2 as it is connected now. Sounds great about the next update too. Congrats on a potentially very cool product, if you get the kinks worked out ![]() |

| As I wrote, I found a fine solution. My tracks are arranged as they should, thank you, and having to go back and forth between Logic and the EuControl to choose and recall different layouts every couple of minutes is not an option. |

open and just doubleclick the layout you need. Preety fast. And with McControl I´m sure you can do the same with a button.
