Cool RME HDSPe 9632 / HDSPe AIO

Just found this from Digital Villages website:
http://www.dv247.com/news/RME%20HDSP...Arrives/131376

RME & Synthax Audio AG have announced a further expansion of their "e"-line of Hammerfall recording solutions for the PCI-Express bus found in current Apple OS and Windows based desktop computers. After the presentation of the HDSPe PCI-Card at NAMM; RME debuts the next PCI-Express solution: HDSPe 9632.
The RME HDSPe 9632 (or HDSPe AIO) is a newly engineered PCI-Express version of its standard-PCI successor. Its new PCI-Express core ensures full compatibility and maximum performance with the latest high-speed serial bus technology found in all newer computers. RME's FPGA core ensures full update capability via RME's Secure Flash technology, for further hardware and driver updates.
The HDSPe 9632 PCIe card comes with the finest 192 kHz reference AD/DA-convertors known from the ADI QS8 (ADI 8QS) (for information, the SNR of both the DAC and ADC on the QS8 has been reported as 120 dBA), a 96 kHz-capable ADAT I/O (SMUX), SPDIF I/O and MIDI I/O and a separate headphone output which owns its own DA converters and can be adjusted independently from the setting of the line outputs, catering for comfortable monitoring not only in recording situations. The RME HDSPe 9632 is delivered with unbalanced RCA/phono breakout cables as standard. Optional breakout cables are available for balanced XLR I/Os and for AES/EBU. This option offers a real 192 kHz AES/EBU input/output mastering facility. The HDSPe 9632 supports RME's TCO (Time Code Option) module and features all famous RME techniques: TotalMix™, SyncCheck® and SteadyClock™.
All new RME PCIe soundcards come with drivers for Windows XP (multi-client operation of MME, GSIF and ASIO 2.0) and brandnew drivers for Windows Vista and Vista 64. Apple users are perfectly served with Power PC and Mac Universal (Intel) drivers providing Core Audio and Core MIDI support.

There isn't much info anywhere else yet but I assume that they are talking about the up-coming NAMM this week, 'cause they mention the products new name HDSPe AIO which was just a while ago changed on RME website.

What I'm interested about is the fact that it has the same converters as ADI QS8 which is RME's most expensive converter. There isn't much info about it either...so might this be very good quality converter with near zero-latency...With quite affordable price...

At the bottom of the page it says: "The HDSPe 9632 is expected in the third quarter of 2007"
- so I think it was written a while ago.

According to this thread:

RME User Forum / HDSPe 9632

it won't be out until april, unfortunately.

Motha f....

Pci-e architecture has been around for so long already. I can't believe it's taking this long to make products for it. Well, I guess they're working as fast as they can.

Talking

Does this:
Welcome to Innovative Music Australia-Novation,Access,RME,Kurzweil

and this:
*Innovative Music Australia: RME HDSPe AIO

...mean that RME is introducing both HDSPe AIO & HDSPe AES at the winter NAMM 2008 after all...? Though it can be like last year when they told that the products will be released before summer and we're still waiting.

You might be right. Maybe they'll announce the card(s) once again at NAMM, but they won't necessarily ship until later this spring...

So, did RME introduce HDSPe AIO at the NAMM or not? It says on their site that:

This year RME presents the current product line and new family members, like
Micstasy, DMC-842, ADI-8 QS and the HDSPe series for the PCI Express high-speed bus.

But the only site saying they did is that innovativemusic... There are some websites in Europe telling that there is such a thing and giving the price for it but nothing else...

Well, hope this one is true...

Rme - Hdsp E 9632 on nuloop.com

Available on february 28, 2008

We'll see... It's at the same price range as Apogee duet. Wonder if the converters are better... latency should be. Haven't really found what Apogee Duets SNR is...

what for, to save money? i doubt they'll make just 2 channels AES... too small of market.

i think most RME products can do AES via SPDIF @ 192kHz, so why not just go thru that? or something like this: RME: ADI-2

It is possible that it will be out in late July...if you are to believe what a sales rep in a music store told me... But most likely never. It's been so long... too long.

for the RayDAT, i wonder if it's possible to not use the 2nd PCIe chassis (2 more ADAT and MIDI)... otherwise it'll burn up a PCIe slot that i won't use. i rather just have the top chassis with WC expansion right underneath it...

Just got off the phone with Synthax.

HDSPe AIO release moved to October 1st, 2008.

Seven more weeks...... scheisse.

Apparently, RME encountered a slight design flaw.

Imagine that...............
