I've been using Atmosphere, Trilogy, Stylus/RMX since the initial releases. Hope the mac/intel platform gets the support for these fine products.

An update for atmosphere is in the works? Looking forward to hearing more on that.

Not working for me

I have an new 8-core mac pro with maxed out ram. I'm getting a pronounced midi latency from Atmosphere... It is effecting all my other plugs too. In addition, even if it did work, when you load a session from your old PPC mac, it doesn't load your presets. I have to agree with other posters that this solution is not working. I really miss Atmosphere, but with no solution in sight, I'm leaning toward "Structure". It is extremely stable on protools, it sounds fantastic and it's easy to use...

I have the same problem with my intel mac and logic.. Where is a REAL solution!!!???

Another problem is, when I pull up all my old projects with Trilogy and Atmosphere - it doesn't remember any of the patch names. I can remember some, but def not all!

I'm just gonna wait even LONGER for the PROPER update.

Spectrum you said after NAMM you could talk more about
Trilogy update.

It seems we have to wait 8 months for Atmosphere UB (I may be able to live)

but no mention of Trilogy UB

Can we please get word on how long its going to take for Trilogy
to get the UB update. I'm hoping Trilogy UB update comes out
at the same time Omnisphere aka Atmosphere 2 comes out.

update please

Spectrasonics has now made Atmosphere officially obsolete for DP users. Quote from the FAQ on their site:

'Digital Performer 5 will not work with Atmosphere or Trilogy with OS 10.5 (Leopard). This affects both PowerPC and Intel-Mac systems.'

Brilliant.

It still blows my mind how they are handling this whole thing. I finally got the wrappers going but that doesn't solve my problem of pulling up old sessions and have the settings for spectrasonics not come up.

it looks like they are not updating the old version at all, so i guess that stands to reason.

this is a tough situation for me. spectrasonics has my favorite virtual instruments, but the foresight in development was not good, nor is the turnaround time for a new version. eric, i think in order to save face they should be throwing all of their resources into the intel updates. maybe they need to hire some more programmers.

as a side, i really wish they would include a real search engine in all of their vi's. it is impossible to find specific sounds in my large rmx library and the favorites always says full, even with only 10 favorites. my response from spectra on this one is that favorites is unlimited in current versions.

It's now July, 2008. I'm tired of waiting for a UB version of Atmosphere or Trilogy and have moved onto other VIs. I imagine using Atmosphere in its full capacity will necessitate buying Omnisphere in September. No, I'd rather not have to re-buy it.

It's almost at the point where I just laugh at this situation. It's that pathetic that there's not much else I can do.

Ok, Eric, Atmosphere is discontinued now, there were no new sounds. There is no diplomatic way to put it - you lied. The Atmosphere manual specifically stated that there would be new sounds.

Well, you just DID mislead Atmosphere users. The only option that you offer as of today is to crossgrade to a different product, Omnisphere, for $249. That's pretty much the same price I paid for Atmosphere in the first place. It's a rip-off.

new sounds for Atmosphere

Hi,

I am wondering if you are really serious ?

What kind of new sounds did you expect for Atmosphere ?
It is technically not possible to put new waveforms into it,... Omnisphere has some more stuff in it ...

Atmosphere for 249.00 USD this was a very good deal. I payed 499.00 USD for it ...

What did you do with Atmosphere so far ?

Sorry, it is hard to understand your point

best, imusic

I'd imagine he is not too keen to be forced to upgrade to use the product he already paid for.

What kind of sounds? The kind that were promised in the manual, of course.
I completely agree with you that it's technically not possible to put new waveforms in it. Still, Spectrasonics was bold enough to promise it.

What I did with Atmosphere so far is create some music. What else would you do with it?? Look at the box and meditate?

Regarding the upgrade price, I think it's a good idea to put things into perspective. I bought a (surprisingly good) bass last year for half the price of the upgrade. I know that some good software can be expensive, but I also cannot help noticing a few musician-friendly trends: look at the pricing of Logic or OS X, in relation of what you get for it. Or Filterscape. Amazing software, from decent developers, for a good price, with free upgrades to Universal Binaries for existing users.
