If you have a MacBookPro then that's close to a perfect situation. Run from the Sparrow coaxial s/pdif to a switcher box like an M-Audio CO2 that flips to optical s/pdif out, then run that to a micro s/pdif adapter for going into the audio-in jack of the MBP. If you've got plenty of RAM and efficient DAW software, the latency should be close to zilch. And what a clean path in. Everything processes in the MBP and clocks to its chip. Sweet.

As for the Sparrow-Duet shoot out, we already A/B'd a BLA002 vs a MiniMe USB. Much preferred the BLA002. Perhaps the Duet is sonically superior to the MiniMe, but I don't recall anything from Apogee making that claim. If the Duet was superior, you'd think they'd make the boast.

I have mine here but haven't been able to test it out because of the 1/4" inputs. I have to run out to the music store and get some cabling which will be next week sometime. I'll report back after I've given it a test drive.... I plan to compare with my mytek stereo192.

I would love to shoot it out with my Lavry blue setup and post some samples ... But if only I could get one of these things soon ...Hmmm...it just seems so crazy to order it from California when I am right here in Chicago and wait 2-3 weeks ... oh well ...I guess I'll have to figure something out...

Yeah, I have had mine for over a week now. Love it. Much better than my 1820m. I am getting pro sound from this, nice for a change. Do a search on "Sparrow" and you can read a bit more.

Only briefly on some vocals. They sound very nice so far. I need to do stereo program material to really nail the comparisons. You can always exchange it if happens to not be the right thing for your studio.
