All though RME says it doesnt take up an extra spot on the PCI-e, it physically takes up 2 slots. The Lynx puts 16 in and out on one card. Two PCI-e slots that give me 32 I/O is what Im looking for just incase I may want to get a T.C. Powercore card at some point.

I've been happy with my AES-16 but it's going to really suck to have to buy it again when I upgrade my G5. Thanks Apple

I see the firewire card, the ADAT card not the AES PCIe. Where on the site is it?

I think you can get a single or dual Magma expansion chassis that'll solve that problem, only deal is that I think you're in for about a grand . If you have atleast another PCI card (i.e. an UAD-1) then it would be worthwhile.

Is there any benefit to having the PCIE over the PCI? Thanks.

For me, it's just what the doctor ordered.... 3 years ago!

PCI-E is a serial architecture. Each PCI-E device is on its own 'bus' vs. legacy PCI devices all sharing resources. I believe that running all pci-e versions of your system devices will eliminate all the IRQ crap that DAW guys wrestle with.
Plus the bandwidth is better (250 full duplex PER x1 LANE!! vs. 133 shared with all slots+onboard devices). More tracks PLUS more space for your UAD-1, Liquid Mix, Duende etc. to operate (The latter two running on PCI-E Firewire cards). Ostensibly, no hardware conflicts anymore...? one can only hope

So it will be easier to build Audio PC's at least....
