Well, if it really is a hit single, then I guess they better get that 20 minutes. I mean, the last time I was 20 minutes away from fame and fortune I couldn't find my car keys. ;-)

More power to you guys for taking on that kind of stuff and thinking it will go smooth.

I couldn't do it.

A hit single usually runs shy of 3 minutes, 4 minutes at most......so why do they need TWO HOURS??

It would be nice if recording a hit were that predictable!

This reminds me of a call i had while running a small studio.

Client "hi there i would like to come in and do some recording"
Me "no problem what are you looking to do"
Clent "well we have recorded the song and just need to use some good mic's for the vocals"
Me "thats not a problem, how much time would you like to book"
Client "well the song is 4 minutes and 30 seconds so about 5 minutes"
Me "Well we do a minimum booking of an hour @ £-- an hour"
Client " but the song is less than 5 minutes long and our singer is really good and will nail it in one take"

Another one was when somone phoned up asking if there was a discount on studio time because their lyrics were not in English

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I suppose that could depend on the language. I charge by the syllable for non-English language recordings.
