Job opportunity in Los Angeles

Hello all,

My studio, Resonate, is looking for entry level workers. (Don't bother looking for us on the internet...we don't maintain a site, however, we are one of the finest studios in Los Angeles). The job would start out as runner, with duties ranging from helping to keep the building clean, running errands for my staff and our clients, some light food preparation (you'll learn the fine art of chocolate chip cookies), helping with CD labeling, packaging and shipping, general office duties, answering phones, opening up the studio in the morning and/or closing the studio at night, etc.

Eventually, if you excel at the runner position, you will most likely start doing some assistant engineering. The timing and the extent of that transition will depend on your knowledge and qualifications, your general attitude, the booking schedule at the studio, etc. There are no guarantees here, but it has been my experience that with those workers who have great work habits and extensive audio knowledge, the transition takes place within the first year or so. However, even once a runner starts assisting, he will continue to do runner duties when there are no sessions, etc. No prima donna's, please!

Qualifications for these positions would include general audio knowledge, extensive ProTools knowledge, preferably some experience in other studios, a professional appearance, a tremendous attitude, a willingness to learn and work hard. We have a great staff and a top flight facility. We are located in Burbank. Pay would start at slightly above minimum wage and advance commensurate with your performance, the cash flow generated by our being busy or slow, etc. You would be paid through the state system, so you'd get your overtime, etc. I have a very strict no-smoking-at-work policy. If you can't go a long day without needing a cigarette, you probably shouldn't bother applying.

Please PM me with questions, and I'll give you an email address to which you could send your resume. Thanks much, everyone!
