Creating Sounds/Music for Nintendo DS

Has anyone created sounds/music for a Nintendo DS game?

If so any points or tips you can give in creating something that works with size limits and speaker limitations?

We have created for games before I just have never had to create something for a handheld title so I'm sure there are some limitations when creating for a DS.

Also, do you know what format and how much they compress the audio when coding it into the game? I've asked the Dev team we are working with but I figured I'd ask here as well since I'm sure some of you have experience in doing this.
