Stylus RMX setup in Logic Pro 7.2.3

I run Logic Pro 7.2.3 and recently purchased Stylus RMX. I installed the plugin, but when I go to use it in logic, it does not appear as an Audio Unit. When I click on the I/O of one of my instrument tracks and then go to Stereo > AU Instruments the only thing that comes up is DLSMusicDevice. How do I get logic pro to recognize the presence of my newly installed plugin?

1) If you are on an Intel Mac you need Stylus 1.5.1b (or something like that) which is the UB version for Intel Macs still in Beta. 1.6 should be out soon as an official release. You can get the UB Beta at Spectrasonics website since you are an owner.

If you are on Intel Mac and have the Intel Stylus beta or are on Power PC try these two things :

2) Under the Logic menu is an application you can open called "Audio Units Manager". Open it up and re scan you system.

3) Also check HD-->Library-->Audio-->Plugins-->Components and make sure the Stylus AU is in there.

If you are using an intel mac. You need the public beta version of Stylus RMX, which I find pretty stable. You can download it from their site after registering your product.

Thumbs up Solution.

Thanks for your help. I finally figured out the problem:

Not only do you have to download version 1.5 updates on the spectrasonics updates page, but you also have to go to the 'public beta' forum (www.publicbeta.spectrasonics.net), go to the downloads forum, then download **BOTH** updates for intel macs.

Thinking the updates were cumulative, I downloaded only the most recent update. It was only after I downloaded and installed both the 1.6.0b9 and the 1.6.0b10 updates in sequential order did I get Stylus to show up in logic as an AU instrument. I hope anyone else who encouters this problem finds this post and doesn't waste as much time as I did trying to figure out the problem.
