Free VST Synths

My goal in this Thread is to collect a list that contains only and only free vst synths. (and other free vst plugins) So enyone who might know a free and usable vst stuff,
make a note.

I recently found this IloSynth 1 v1.6, that is made most likely by one man.
when i downloaded the synth i was like "Well, lets give it a shot" and i found that ilosynth was surprisingly well done. Not that eny real pro would use it...or a semi pro :D

http://www.iloyd.com/ilosynth/

So people, let the list begin.

Linplug FreeAlpha
Greenoak Crystal
and only sort of free, but a user of any FXpansion product gets a copy of their monosynth, called Orca, for free.

I'm a BIG fan of Mr Ray 73, an all-virtual (no samples) Rhodes sim. I love that thing and the way you can control so many parameters... it's really wonderful in many ways.

I also like ZR3 and ORGANized Trio for B3-type sims.

For electronic/noise beds (not so much for music as ambient sound for Flash or other vids... but I HAVE used it in a few music trakcs) I've been greatly amused by the "Sun Ra" VSTi...

[Of course, it mixes freebies and payfors but I've found SO MUCH great stuff on KVR. And Hammersound for soundfonts.]

Your goal was achieved long long ago.

You can find hundreds of free VST'Is. Just block out any that are not free. http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=results&st=q&s=1

That is the most comprehensive collection I know of anyway.

GOOGLE!!

ive found many free synths and vst's on google. just type in what you want or just "free synths/vst's". look around, and download but be careful of some websites, you might download more than your asking for... like MALWARE..

A very great VST synth is "Dune LE". There was a free version in the last Beat Magazin (German Magazin). The offered version in that magazin was between full version and demoversion.
So you just have to buy the magazin and get a great synth.

Another great VST synth is SQ8L a Ensoniq SQ-80 emulation from Sigfried Kulman. It sounds great and can load the original ESQ/SQ80 sounds from the 80s.

soz to hijack thread..but a quick minor related question - izotope Vinyl - is it compatible with all DAWS then??.. as when I had a look at the official site I ( very possibly in error/stupidity) thought it was suggesting that whilst it was free download, it was only Pro Tools Centric. If this is not the case, then I shall give it a bash in ableton. Happy days

which free vst is a good one to get nice brass sounds like the Ensoniq VFX? is the sq80 good enough for something like at 1.38 in this video? someone else posted this video up in another thread, I actually like these sounds!
