| Major Pro Tools MP Automation problem Hi, I'm using Pro Tools m-powered 7.1.1 on a pc and have lots of problems with the automation. Basically it just won't play back reliably. Whether its a bypass off and on or a drawn or written curve. About the only thing that plays back consistently is if I draw two nodes spaced apart to create a straight fade up/down. In some cases automation will playback for a portion of the area I've drawn/written and then all of a sudden stop in the middle of it. I've tried everything from importing the problem tracks into a new session, unloading and reloading the plugins, etc... There is really no rhyme or reason to it. For instance one track currently won't playback bypass on/off info but it will do a continuous curve on another parameter. Yet even with curve it won't always finish all the moves. I do notice that by moving the play cursor around the automation will update correctly then, just not when the song is playing. I've also seen that when the automation gets stuck if I click on the fader/knob in question all of a sudden the automation kicks back in again. It's so erratic and random that I now have no faith in PT's automation at all now. Note this basically all applies to plugin automation, I haven't even tried much using general mixer controls. Any ideas? Last edited by Jesse Skeens; 1st December 2006 at 05:49 PM.. Reason: needed more info |
