| IMAC good enough for Digi 002? I'm finally stepping out into into the DAW world. I have an IMAC with a 1GHZ Processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD. I have a Digi 002 Rack on the way. I don't plan on using this setup for tracking at all(will use my Radar 24 for that) but I will be using it for some mixing(mostly rock and pop). Does anyone here use this same setup? If so, how many plug-ins/tracks can you run comfortably? Also what plug-ins would you guys recommend for Pro Tools LE? All of this is new to me, I've never mixed without an actual mixer so any help will be appreciated. Thanks. |

| You should be in pretty good shape with the Imac. You'll probably need to pick up an external firewire drive for your audio. LE is limited to 32 tracks. As for plug-in count, that will depend on the efficiency of the individual plugs... Some are notorious hogs! Good Luck!

| As for plug-ins, try to extend yourself to decent ones, otherwise you'll be disappointed. FWIW, I reckon Compressorbank and Filterbank by McDSP are beaut, as are the Sony's. Also, a decent 'verb is a must...opinion varies 'round these parts on which one is best ;) Cheers Rick |
