My Mackie Control Universal works in PT but not in Logic 7?? WTF??

I got an MCU a few months ago and I got it to work with Protools fine in HUI mode, but now I can't get it to work with Logic. I'm running Logic 7 on a G5 with an M-Audio 1814. The firmware is up to date on the MCU. I read through the setup portion of the MCU and Logic manuals and it says that for Logic it should automatically recognize the MCU when Logic boots, but it does nothing. I have tried this in HUI, Mackie Control, and Logic Control modes. When I go to the control surface setup in Logic, it doesn't see the MCU when I scan it.

WHATS GOING ON?? Is there something I'm supposed to do in the environment? Right now all I have setup for MIDI is a physical input object, with the sum going through the keyboard thingy and into the sequencer input object.

Please help, this is very frusterating!

did you read the manual?
i am almost positive that you need to make a change on the MCU every time you go back and forth between PT and Logic. The MCU sends out different info when hooked to each program. it doesnt automatically figure that you changed devices

I don't have either PT or Logic but I did read the manual and I'm pretty sure you have to change some setting when you change.

Restart the MCU while holding down the first 3 "select" buttons. You'll get a display that lets you select Logic Control, HUI, or MCU modes.

Kind of a pain, but there you are.

Best...H

Yes I read the manual, and tried the different modes, as I said in the original post.
Any other ideas?

hmmm...well it all of the sudden just started working, for no apparent reason...after a number of restarts. I literally did nothing differently...it just started to work
