Akai Rotator

Has anyone used this plug? I could use a tip on a decent vst or dx rotary simulation. Thanks

it sucks. i would advice using the native instruments b4 vsti which has an b4-fx plug included which does pretty nice rotary speaker and pre amp emulation.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the reply. I did find a demo download after I posted here and tried it today. I wasn't very impressed with it for realism or depth on an organ, but I did find a perfect use for it on a vocal bit that I wanted to sound "swishy". It's OK for a jive-ass effect I guess. I've heard great stuff about the B4 so I'll look there next.

cheers

I've only heard demos.

The B4 I've used. It is an amazing tool. HIGHLY recommended.

If you happen to be using Logic... the EVB3 instrument includes a couple of separate plugs, including a nice rotater emulation.

And, for B3 emulations, I think EVB3 beats NI's B4 (yeah, I used B4 for a long time before EVB3 came out).

Also, there's Bomb Factory's Voce Spin plug in. It sounds pretty cool. Oh, but no VST...

Try two wireless mics taped to the blades of a modified ceiling fan!

I taped some mics to the fanblade of my 65 impala, but they didn't hang around long...
