| Clicks'n'Pops appearing on DAT>>MOTU2408/Mac Transfer I'm experiencing some random clicks'n'pops when transferring a 44.1k stereo DAT recording to a G4 Mac via a MOTU 2408 MkIII and into Logic 6.3 on OS-9.2.2 I'm using a proper SP/DIF cable, and I'm setting the clock options of the PCI-424 to 2408 SP/DIF, and the transfer rate is always at 44.1k. The clicks and pops are definitely not on the original recording but turn up in different spots in the new audio file each time I try a transfer, sort of every few seconds. I've been using the MOTU for months and never noticed a problem on recording or playback until now. Could someone give me a chronological troubleshooting checklist before I start to dismantle the whole system! Thanks a lot, James Lehmann

| Somewhere a clock is not agreeing with another clock. That is what it sounds like to me. Make sure to set the clock in Logic, the Apple sound manager, PCI interface, and 2408. If none of this is the problem, start trashing preferences of the related possible offenders. Good luck.

| Problem solved I think! Cheers David. Having triple checked all the clock settings as you suggested I discover that Logic does not automatically reset its clock to the MOTU control panel. I had reset the latter a dozen times, but it wasn't until I opened "Audio Hardware and drivers" in Logic and manually switched to 2408 SP/DIF that the transfer seems golden now. Seems like Logic should be a bit more alert to these things, as well as the user! Thanks for suggestions.
