| Depends on you application I use a Mac Pro because I have a stationary inhouse setup. Advantages: rugged stability, physical durability, unlimited (well almost $$$) upgradability, more practical as a permanent expandable, interfacable DAW...the heart and center piece of the production suite. But, a laptop can go anywhere....mobile recording, gigs, rehearsals, tutorials, conferences, field editing, and with todays power can outperform even a fairly modern previous generation G5 tower. Both are pretty cool in their own way!!! P.S. Amazing the amount of people who are Mac jeleous. I also own and use a PC for different things. But, when it comes to working in a multiple task industry such as film/video, you absolutely have to use industry standard interchangeable programs. Meaning, if the industry is Mac Based and you are collaborating with 20 different production people all using the same tool of creation, and you want to work.... |

Coz if im workin on a project i tend to be there for a while..... and if i do go laptop... MACBOOKPRO - 15inch or 17 inch? cheers still very confused! lol thanks though! peace

| If you can wait, you could just hang in there til the quad cores come out and the mini gets updated to core 2 duo. Once that happens you can get a refurb Mac Pro AND an updated C2D Mac Mini for under 3k. Have your cake and eat it too. |
