Outboard gear latency in SX3

I'm getting some latency, between 20-40ms when using outboard gear in Cubase SX3. I was recording thru my 002/Rosetta 800 at 256 samples

Problem 1:
I was trying to send a bass DI track to a POD xt for a little dirt. Inside Cubase Bass DI track-->ADAT 1-->POD -->Great River Preamp-->ADAT 1. This new Bass/POD was recorded onto a new track and it was delayed about 20ms. Is there anyway to compensate for this without cutting and nudging the track? This is why I left PT LE in the first place

Problem 2: When using an outboard EQ as an" External FX" insert in Cubase it was creating about a 30-40 ms delay (I exported the track with the EQ and compared it to a copy of the original without EQ)

Any help would be appreciated

Make sure your using 3.1.1 and arfter you ahve setup your external FX open up the external FX plug and hit the ping button which they added in 3.1.This wil claculate the latency and then compensate accordingly.
