Internet Explorer for Mac?

This is kind of weirding me out.

My girl is trying to download a plugin called "Sealed Media Unsealer" but it's a plugin for Internet Explorer.

This is in order to print out some materials for a psych class at U.T.

Neither of us have been able to find a version of Internet Explorer for Mac. BTW, I'm on 10.4.4.

Is there no more I.E. for Mac?

This plugin won't run on anything but I.E. apparently, and I don't have a Win computer around.

Thanks for any advice.

I've had a few website require IE, which MSFT isn't making for Mac anymore, as they have somewhat conceeded to Firefox/Opera/Safari/etc as being better browsers for mac. IE sucked for Mac anyway. You can always try to run in classic if you have a somewhat older mac, which should have IE in it.

Other options... Umm. Virtual PC works ok. If you have a newer Mac, and of course can't run classic, then you could always use a virtualization software or simply use Bootcamp to boot into XP. Other options... i think there's some firefox plugins that spoof firefox as IE (which is ok for website, but not for using IE plugins). Perhaps someone has made a plugin wrapper from IE to firefox?

One downside you might encounter is that even if you get IE running on your mac, there's probably a chance that the plugins for IE are written only for Windows IE in mind.

Anyone got IE still sitting around on their Mac and would be willing to make a DMG package of it? (I'm not asking for pirated software here... they have just stopped shipping IE for Mac, whereas they used to for free).

Wow. Bunch of ideas. I think that it's probably gonna be quicker to go to Kinko's and use a Win machine for a couple of minutes.

Thanks for the suggestions. So how about this, while we're kinda on the topic.

You know how you can usually type in (for example) ebay in the browser url line and it'll do the rest?

Well, something changed (I changed something?) in Safari and now if I don't type "http://" and ".com" I get redirected to a yahoo (yahoo?) page that says "Did you mean..." and gives a list of websites.

It's a pain.

Any clue what I did?

Thanks

i did, however, keep a copy while it's still alive just in case. i just uploaded a link if anybody still need it:

about the address line thing, have you tried cleaning Safari's cache or repair permissions? if not, you can always "Reset Safari"... but remember to backup your bookmarks (HD/Users/***/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist)

Well, how about Safari Enhancer, available on this page at versiontracker.com?

One of the features is the ability to change "what browser Safari identifies itself to websites as," i. e., fool a site into thinking you're using Explorer.
