Monitor is "beeping" ... electrical issue

Hi folks.

I have two plasma monitors. One of them beeps (a long constant tone, very fatigue-ing).

I had this sitch before, and solved it by taping over the ground connectors on both monitors.

For some reason the ringing is back, and I can't get it to go away. Any ideas?

Jeremy

its trying to communicate with you.

Plasma: I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

That's funny.

I'd kinda prefer having Hal for company to this 3 kHz tone.

Anyone else have a solution?

I would appreciate it greatly.

you mean like a high-pitch, 18KHz ringing? isn't that pretty standard with almost all monitors?

i also get a faint "buzz" sound, when i try to move some windows on my monitor. it'll do that too when i use Expose or even scrolling up & down a Gearslut page.

..but no cure yet.

Indeed, quite in the most sensitive range... very tiring.

I'll go at it with new cables and stuff, if it doesn't work I'll have to try a new monitor... just seems wasteful, and I don't care that much for visual stimuli.

Maybe I can give the monitors to foreign aid and feel better about the whole thing.
