| Lives for gear | iLok Stopped Working I have only had my iLok for about a week and all of a sudden it is not being recognized by my computer. I am also not able to synchronize it with the iLok website. Is there a known problem with these things? |

| Sounds silly, but are you using the same USB port each time? It seems to me, that (PC at least) wants the computer recognizes the device, it tends to expect it to be in that same spot. But, I would assume you would do that. My Ilok has worked fine for a year... Sync'd on my internet/do all pc and used on my recording pc, so even switching between two different computers, no problems here. have you contacted them? maybe it's a run of buggy/faulty iLoks.. I know there is no warranty, per se, but one week and it not working seems like a reason to aggressivly request a new one. wish I was more help. -D

| Is the light on? Sometimes their usb connection can be funky, I've had to pull them slighty out or wiggle them to get a connection. Nice in something that has thousands of dollars worth of licenses on it.

| Lives for gear | Yup the light is on, and I tried wiggling it and putting it in different ports with no luck. I guess I'll just call them and see what the deal is. |

| I know that if I move my iLok from one USB port to another on my PC I have to go through a little "new hardware found". If you are using Windows, go into hardware manager and look for an unknown USB device of siome type. You may just need to reinstall the iLok drivers and then run the hardware wizard for the device again. |

| Lives for gear | So I bought a new iLok only to discover that your old one still needs to work in order to transfer the licenses. Is there any possible way that I can do this, or do I have to send them both back? |

| gotta send the busted one to ilok. it'll probably be a couple weeks wait if you don't have ZDT coverage. I think once they verify that it's broken they'll re-deposit your licenses into your ilok account to sync with your new ilok (that is, you don't have to send them the empty one). |

| Guys, be sure to spend a few extra $ on the little USB extension. If your iLok (or any other HASP key) is in a USB port and takes a hit, chances are that sucker is dead. Throw in the little 6" USB extender and unless you step on the key itself, the worst that will happen is the extender will stop working or the USB port will stop working, not your dongle.

| if you buy Waves plug-ins I highly recommend getting another, different iLok that's just for Waves licenses, as they don't use iLok.com and should you have a problem it's a different process to resolve it. |
