| Midi Question with the newer versions of Pro Tools I have a question about midi: In two different studios last week (on macs, using pt 6.9 and 7.0) I had the same problem. Namely, after recording a midi track and trying to quantize it, the program inserted small "dots" behind each of the notes, and when the program played back, there would only be a blip of sound before it muted out. Any idea what causes this and how to turn it off? Thanks! |

| Any ideas about this? It still seems to be a problem. |

| Sounds like your controller is sending duplicate notes or you've got a midi feedback problem. Make sure that your controller is only sending on one midi channel. Some controllers have zones and you might have two zones active. To determine if it's a feedback problem pull the midi in from your controller and see if you still get the "dots". Good luck.

| Thanks Jan. I will definitely give that a try!! One thing we I to do was to use the "remove duplicate note" function in the midi window but that didn't work. The keyboard we were using is the M Audio Pro 88. I believe it only had one zone. Could this problem have anything to do with using ticks vs. samples? |
