Unhappy problems: RTAS Altiverb on Aux inputs - in ProTools 7.1 TDM HD3

hello all

So..... i own vsn 5 - Altiverb RTAS -

I'm having problems using stereo Altiverb on Aux inputs - in ProTools 7.1 TDM HD3

When I open a session that I was working on earlier today, everything looks good, and appears ok - but usually the Altiverb isnt working on the aux returns.

If I hit the 'test' buttons that send sound into the Altiverb plug - there is silence. (or sometimes one side gives reverb, but not the other...)

If I clear the two instantiations of altiverb from the two aux returns, then put them back in, they work.

Any ideas as to a fix? I installed altiverb onto a clean install of PT 7.1cs9 today from the most recent installer today via Audioease.com website. I'm ilok. G5 1.8 single processor- OS 10.4.6 HD3 TDM

I'm only using two stereo altiverbs.

any ideas?

many thanks

Not supported in version 7.1

I have never heard of the problem and without looking at the session it's too hard to tell. But audioease has good forums where employees answer on a daily basis. They are top notch about that. I tried to sample a room at Hensen the other day. It wouldn't work so they are going to look at teh audio files for me. I don't think I have ever waited more than a couple hours for a response from someone at the company on their user forums.

In the means time, I am curious if it works on an audio track thats on input. Dunno what it would prove, but who knows.

HTDM does not work anymore in PT 7 since Digi improved RTAS and made it to work on aux tracks.

a fix that was suggested on the DUC seems to work....

simply refresh the output assignment - just select the same OP again (just takes a second) and then it works.....

faster than removing the altiverb plug on eachg aux and putting it back....

oh well....

howver - sure does sound good (for a plugin)

do you mean it fixes an incorrectly mute (malfunctioning) altiverb RTAS plug on an aux input in ProTools 7.1 cs9?

I just got this info from the fine folks at Audioease...

( they rock, by the way)

Please delete the plug-in manually (move it to the trash and empty it) and then re-install Altiverb 5.4.8. This should solve this problem.

The plug-in is located at:

"/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/Altiverb 5"

I'll try this now.

unfortunately - reinstalling as they suggested does not fix the problem.

I am tdm 7.1cs9

if I reassign the output of the aux track, the altiverb suddenly works. Ctrl Option clicking it (or putting in bypass then not) does not fix the problem

I emailed them back..... anyone else having this problem?
