| Lives for gear | VSTi's, Absynth 2, etc in Pro Tools NOW If you are not aware of Plogue Bidule - and for those still waiting on Native-Instruments to get Absynth2 RTAS ready (they keep delaying it it seems), you can use it NOW along with any other VSTi, using Plogue Bidule in rewire mode into ProTools. It's awesome!! I can't beleive how well it works and currently it's still FREE (beta testing but pretty dang solid!!) Check it out!! Tempo/BPM sync and the whole 9 yards. Works like a champ. http://www.plogue.com/bidule/index.html

| Mac Moderator | Thanks for that jho!!! I remember trying this app out a few months ago when it was so much more basic.. Looks like they've come along way. If it'll let me run Albino within Tools reliably then I'll be happy ;-) Al.

| Any tips on how the thing works guys?! i've got the plogue app opening in PT as a plug-in but am stuck in plogue itself. Is there a simple way of playing a VSTi in plogue and getting the audio into PT? It looks like the logic environment or Reaktor to me at the moment! cheers

WHen you installed Bidule it should put two files (well, one file and one folder) in your VST plug in directory. Then do this. 1. Bring up PT 2. Insert a MULTI-MONO RTAS of Bidule. Just like reason you can have multiple instances of stuff coming from the one main bidule dending on it's outputs. 3. Start Bidule 4. In bidule, control/click in the environment. It will bring up a menu where you can choose things. First, choose your midi input device. Then choose some VSTi's. 5. Wire the midi out into the IN of the Bidule midi router at the top. 6. Out of that midi router, drag a wire to your VSTi midi input. 7. Out of the bottom of the VSTi, take our left/right output and input into 1/2 or 3/4 or whatever on that rewire mixer at the bottom. 8. Now your track in PT input should be selected to the appropriate "Bidule output. 9. SHould work...you'll pick up on it quickly becuz it's just like wiring hardware, you'll see... If you want you can call my cell and I'll help you out. Contact info at my website below... Jeff

| not sure if y'all saw this, but the fxpansion vst to rtas adapter can make vst plugins and vsti's work inside protools also, and from what i've seen so far, it is seemless. http://www.fxpansion.com this is the link to their site, check it out. they also have a vsti to rewire adapter. i've only played with the vst to rtas adapter, and it has opened up a whole new world in protools for us.
