mackie control universal problem HELP

sorry if this has been covered before, but i am having a problem getting my new MCU to work fluidly in nuendo 3.2.1
I am running a dual 1gig mac G4 with 10.4.6
faders are especially sluggish and unresponsive. motors are fighting me as well.
evrything fine on launching.

Sound like a multiple MIDI thing.

Check that the port assigned to MCU is not also being used by some MIDI tracks.

Nuendo has a habit of throughputting MIDI at all times.

What interface are you using?

The other midi ports are assigned to my E-MU 25X. They did share the same port and I changed it up. I was getting synth sounds when I moved a slider.

My interface is an apogee rosetta 800 with an X-fire 400 card.
