which sequencers have takelists?

I am curious which sequencers use the takelist approach and which use the multiple takes in the same window approach. I am currently using logic and HATE the fact that there are no takelists. I am looking at alternatives and am shocked to see that nuendo and cubase don't have takelists either. So wondering if people could help me figure this out. Also wondering if takelists are in development for various apps. Here are the ones I know.

Pro Tools-has takelists of course
Logic-no take lists, you can pack multiple takes into a folder as an alternative.
Digital Performer-has takelists pretty much the same as PT
Cubase-not take list, but they have stacked takes mode. not sure how it works.
Nuendo-same as Cubase.

Sonar doesn't have take lists as such but it has multiple track layers. Each take gets its own layer within a track. (Or you can record each take to a seperate track).

You basically got it in the list above. One of the many reasons I could never use Logic.

Mackie Tracktion has got take-lists as well!

And the nice thing is, they move along with your edits.

For cubase/ nuendo, they use lanes. Multiple takes are "stacked" onto one track in sequential order, with the newest take on the bottom. Only one take (the newest one) plays at a time unless regions are muted. If these regions are muted, the program will read the take before the newest one (and so on). This makes it incredibly easy to comp takes, as all you have to do is cut the takes in the desired areas and mute the regions you don't want to use in any of the takes.

For more info go to:

Click on Video Guides (Menu on the left)

Select Stacked recording

Hope this helps.

this is sort of in between pro tools and logic. It seems like this would be problematic when dealing with a drum group. if you had 10 takes on 10 tracks, you would be looking at 100 tracks at a time. I certain situations I could see the benefits of this method, but doesn't quite solve the playlist issue for drums. I like it much better than packing a folder though.

so this is the same way sonar does it?
