| Besides the things that have been already mentioned I'd like to see a more streamlined GUI, an easier to use environment, and and and. But I think what we really get to see is total iLife integration and podcast publishing right out of Logic plus 2 additional DVD full of brand new apple loops and some more stunning presets. brrrr.... -__- edit: oh I forgot... probably a totally new package design with enhanced specs ( minimal requirements: Mac Pro 2.0 Ghz :) )

| Hm. I'd like to see Apple give a crap about Logic users. Maybe even answer their emails or contribute to the forums once in a while... Then I'd like to see multi-channel virtual instruments that work as easily as their MIDI counterparts... You should be able to control at least panning and volume of multi-channel plugins without needing custom environment objects and aux channels. Group editing and multiple-take "playlist" functions. Drum recording on Logic 7 is a PITA. I don't want complete Sound Diver editing, but at least MIDI instruments should be able to ask for the patch names. And PDC for external instruments (like Cubase/Nuendo's PING feature) Better tempo mapping, follow external tempo and film scoring tools. No more plugins, dance music toys, or garage band loops. Fix the bugs. That'll do for now. ![]() |

also I need to look sometimes at a matrix window, without it following the cursor. this behaviour should be optional.

| Oh yeah, forgot. FIX THE ZOOMING. When you zoom in to a region, it should stay centered on your screen. When you select a cycle range and zoom out to get it all on screen, it should stay on screen. (currently it shifts all around the freakin' place). And maybe some larger font sizes or mixer objects for those of us who work on high resolution screens at arms' length? (Okay, now I'm just being whiney). ![]() |

| also, a price cut would be nice. Everyone thinks logic is a good deal cause of everything you get with it, but the competition is catching up. dp 5: $500 cubase 4: $800 sonar 6: $600 (though with their 6,000 versions I wouldn't know which is most comparable to logic) live 6: $600 all these have good quality processing plugins and instruments. I highly doubt logic 8 will cost less but I can still hope. |

| Fix the Zooming, Elastic Audio like Live. Virtual Analog Summing Buss? Make Logic 8 work on both Intel and PPC Mac's so people with fast G5's won't be forced to upgrade. |

| I would like all the bugs fixed first and foremost. I'm tired of session and template corruption. Tired of memory errors. Tired of instrument drop out. Need the automation copying to be fixed so that is doesn't screw up the automation that follows. Stability is critical. I is hard to use this product professionally if you have to worry about a session just becoming unusable or parts dissapearing from you session or audio instruments dropping out. And please don't ask me for more info on these bugs as they are well documented on the sonikmatter or apple forums. differen't versions have certain things fixed, but ultimately introduce new bugs. I am hoping that they are recoding this thing from the ground up. Once those bugs are fixed i would love more pro tools style audio functionality. If Logic 8 isn't more stable I'm afraid I will have to starting thinking about alternatives, again. I did hear that take lists were in the works. |

| Tibbon -- er, I think (and this is just my best guess) that MINOR was cracking a joke. He was sarcastically implying that what we need is more loops, more cheesy surface stuff -- I think he was trying to make the point that apple has added a lot of silly gimmicky things and was pretending that we needed "more of it".

| Automatic Delay Compensation of all TDM/DAE audio steams, & plug-ins in addition to what's already covered by Logic Pro. I mean it does'nt even make sense to be able to access the TDM/DAE world if you can't sync things properly with it. Rob G. ![]() |

| How about Control Click on the fader changes the entire volume of the track that already has volume automation on it. I'm tired of zooming into the yellow meter on the arrange page and Apple clicking that. |

| Rob G . I asked apple directly about this recently at a show , there answer 'not in our interest' (has getting into bed with apogee got anything to do with this i wonder...) there big push is native so expect more crappy content , more instruments I never use. I have loved logic for years , but since V7 im less and less enamoured with it. Apple are breaking far to much , the support which used to be ace is now none existant. My list of things : Sample accurate edit , playlists , groups that work properly. PDC for DAE PDC for buses Buses that allow mono sends to stereo channels etc better import/export of songs from other setups EXS over haul anyone? I would go on , but....... whats the point? If I felt like apple cared one jot maybe it would make a difference. Anyone confirm of deny whether logic 8 is ppc and intel friendly? GFX |

| The question is whether there will be a version 8 at all? Also, LogicPro is now at 7.2xxx, who says they won't first come up with 7.3, 7.4, 7.5 etc.? And still, at the time 8 is going to be released, what versions of PT, Cubase, Nuendo etc. will we have then which has functionaliyt or whatever you want to have too? It's an everlasting battle. Most important question is whether Apple is seriously trying to push the pro market with a killer pro product or whether they are more consumer oriented. Roadmap, roadmap, roadmap... Regards, Roger |

| Lives for gear | Wish corporations acted like open source groups Sometimes I do wish that corporations would openly act like some of the open source groups and show us their roadmaps for development for the next 3 years. Won't ever happen, but it would stop a lot of fighting if they were truthful (unlike Microsoft for some future announcements). I am convinced more now than ever, that Apple bought emagic because to Apple it was cheap, and they wanted to rape the technology for their consumer apps (iLife and Garageband). The fact that they even released version 7 was probably just some concession to emagic and a few friends, but nothing more. Version 8 is looking doubtful to me now. Might just have to buy a freaking HD right afterall.

| Lives for gear | Context sensitive tooltips/balloons. Would be really nice to be able to know the name of a button, and perhaps a bit about it's function if you pressed Option or something while the baloon is floating... would be killer and sooo helpful for figuring stuff out at first. The ability to turn this off would be nice too.
