Best Music Selling/Buying Site That Sound Great?

Hey guys,

What is the best music selling/buying site that sounds great? I have only been to a few but, none of them seem to sound as good as iTunes Store but, iTunes store doesn't sell personal music. Meaning I can't sell my music on there unless I have a label of some sort.
Or does it?
Also what are some of the drawbacks to some of these sites? Some of the sites you have to register blah blah blah. So which site is the easyest?
So this is kind of a two part question.

1. Which is the best site to sell my music on that can show the quality of what I've done, not like myspace. (I hate the sound of myspace)

2. I like buying other peoples music when I like it but, the quality is usually bad most of the time other than iTunes which is pretty good...AAC is great.
So what site has the best quality + music?

Thanx

M2E

Do a search for Fletcher on here. Check his sig line. I think he's involved with a new company that can get your music on Itunes for very reasonable fees if not down right cheap.

I can't recall the name but Tune (something) seems to be all I can think of right now.

Are there any other ones that you guys know of or, that you guys belong to? Also, is there any site that you can sell your tracks/instrumentals and such?
What's the downside to these sites if any and which site is the best?

Thanx

A know quite a few people who aren't signed but have their music for sale at iTunes. Call them

I use Bandcamp, which plays back as a wav file and allows quite a few different download formats. It allows you to set your price

track by track - pays you back | Digitalvertrieb | Virales Onlinemarketing | Promotion | Vermarktungstools | Best Practice b2b | Consulting
you get 80%. iTunes, beatport etc. 300 shops worldwide, no running cost, only 5€ per track for initial upload...

I haven`t tried it but the terms sound very good.

There are a number of services that will put your music on iTunes for you. (You can do it yourself, but Apple does not make it particularly easy.)

Tunecore, as noted, as well as Reverbnation and a number of others will rip your music into proper formats and package your ancillary information in the appropriate formats for various stores. None of it's free, of course, since they're saving you a fair amount of hassle, but rates seem to run around $35/album on up, depending on number of tracks, number of stores, etc. FWIW, Tunecore allows the most flexibility but the extra options can cost; Reverbnation offers a flat rate; you should investigate the others, as well.

At first glance, it appears that tunecore uploads to three major websites, but that Reverbnation uploads to a much larger number. Not sure what the advantages of either are

It's been quite a few months since I was comparing them but one thing is certain: under the deals in effect at that time, it was difficult to make direct comparisons because of the nature of the deals and inclusions; you could set up a scenario where RN was the clear winner -- but a different scenario could easily favor Tunecore's pricing approach. Also, keep in mind that both treat the different national iTunes stores as separate stores for some purposes. So, say, iTunes USA and iTunes Japan count as two different stores, etc.

Can you register with all of them and put the same song on all to see what happens? I wonder what their policies are about this are?

Whether you sell your music on your website or use a 3rd party site, you should ultimately figure out what is in your best interest.
