Parallel Compression in Cubase VST 5.

Yes, I"m still running good old Cubase VST 5.1 (on windows).

I can't seem to work out how to do Parallel compression without replicating the drum track. oh yeah i'm mostly trying to do it for drums. to get a fuller sound.

There seems to be no way to bus a stereo drum mix to secondary stereo group. As the channel sends seem to be mono, if i buss it to another group then it will actually be a mono sum of the stereo channel. Is that true?

Actually I read recently in Cubase VSt there is no plugin delay compensation on the groups so perhaps i shouldn't be trying to do it that way. hmm...

Not unless you want to copy and manually align your audio. Cubase SX 2 and beyond has automatic PDC. Cubase [SX] 4 will be out shortly, next month or two.

Will your favourite compressor plugin configure as a Send effect?

But there wasn't latency compensation on Send FX in Cubase 5, I think? Bums.

OK, does your compressor plugin have a wet/dry control?

i think cubase vst 5 only has latency compensation on audio tracks.

so copy the track. what's wrong with that approach?

vst 5 is underrated software, i love the dated-looking but functional interface.
