a bit late for an answer, but anyway. I have used the transient designers from creamware a lot, and they are just great. Use them with care though, cause these babies actually do work....i mean, i have tested the waves TransX or something like that it's called....and in comparision to the transient designer they do nothing. The attackers are for just adjusting the attack. With the designers you can adjust attack as well as sustain....you want choppy drums....use these on your tracks....maybe you can get a demo version of them, but i'll doubt you'd regret the purchase. Regards, Ray |

I messed around with various transient modding processors while doing the sample disc and always found the SPL hardware to do some decent things, but the software Waves and Fishfonesdidn't quite have the same magic, although both were nice. I ended up taking the SPL out of the dynamics chain because in the end, I liked it better without. But maybe I didn't spend enough time with it. The Waves especially has a lot of tweakage to it.

You might also like to try Braindoc's free Envelope designer http://www.braindoc.de/english/vstEn.html

imho dominion does NOTHING when compared to a TD4... unfortunately i will have to shell out €900 next year for a TD4 because since doing some stuff with it I can't live without one..... no more gating and a lot less compressing of drums. Herwig |
