Simple Logic MIDI question (polyphony?)

Im sure there is just a setting I need to switch but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm trying to play a Drum kit with ESX24. As I'm playing the beat in real time the notes just cut in and out sporadically. It seems as though Logic is not allowing me enough notes polyphony....

any ideas?

you can change the polyphony, by changing the number of available voices.
if you run it with too little ram, it can start stealing voices too.

oh but a drumkit, would probably be in a note priority mode. (low note first, high note, last note etc.) that or you have a serious latency problem...

Sorry, that was a bit over my head. I get the jist of what you're saying but could you possibly be more clear on exactly how I go about tweaking that stuff? Thanks.

mmm, yeah I'm not in front of my daw right now, and not ehm exactly clearheaded because it is 5 AM here. (so late! I'm off to bed)

basically if you play a note it uses voices. memory allocations. too little ram and the stuff goes crazy.
but since a drumkit doesn't require much memory, I guess it is that priority note thing. it will for instance cut off an open hihat, when you play a closed one. one note overrules the other. this can also be the last note overruling the previous one etc. sorry to say, but you have to check your manual. it's in there somewhere

goodnight

Check the polyphony setting in the EXS - it's next to the "poly-legato-mono" switches.

There's also a realtime-counter that shows the actually used voices next to it...

How do you fix a terrible snare sound?
The answer is, a hit single. (Thanks, Trina)

Thanks guys. I actually figured out that it was just one of the samples being wierd, not sure why.

Basically when I pull up the hip hop kit in the EXS24 the first 808'ish kick drum as I work my way down the keyboard just sporadically decides to work or not work. So for instance is I play the kick on the eighth notes it will hit half the time and the other half the sample will simply not respond to me hitting the key. This is very strange and I cannot figure out for the life of me why it would do this. Its not too big of a deal as I can use all of the other kicks in that kit just fine. More of an annoyance than anything.

any ideas here?
