need 8in/out Soundcard/Audio interface

Anyone have some recomendations for me?

I need around 8in/out for no more than $1500 (im not going for lynx or apogee)things i have seen are RME fireface800 & ADI-8pro/ds. presonus firepod
im not sure about firewire, i have never used it for anything, is it reliable?

i don't NEED portability or inbuilt preamps. (but if its included, thats fine..)

im using Nuendo...

rme multiface is a very good solution, or rme aes32, or any rme card.
