windows optimization????

when i first started posting here it was because of some problems getting fw1884/pc/nuendo to play nice together and i've seen plenty of little tips... i've also seen some major links and those are what i'm lookin for now... i'm finally in a position to take advantage of them as i have someone to handle it for me... and would like for them to read them... yeah i know i shoulda marked/downloaded at the time but didn't realize search might not find them... my bad... seems as though it shoulda been made a sticky...

There is a good article on this in the latest issue of Sound On Sound. They actually go through which commonly used tweaks work and which ones do not or have a minimal impact The article is available here if you are a subscriber: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep0...ician_0906.htm

The musicXP.com checklist is a good one.

You can get into a more detailed, nuts'n'bolts optimization at www.tweakXP.com.

I consolidated all the tweaks I could find into one document. This includes everything from music XP and other recording sites as well as general performance. I've done all of these tweaks on one of my machines and it screams. UNfortunately, it is larger than permitted for this forum. PM me if you want a copy.

Best link is to the Nuendo forums...
First-hand users- with first-hand, real world experiences.

Plus, you have people like Brian T., Scott from ADK, Guy from Sonica, etc. there...doesn't get much more expert for that than them IMO...

of course they would be worth mentioning.. i've been reading scott/guy/brian for awhile now and they are a major source for me and well worth anybody's effort to keep up with.... for instance guy/scott are beatting up on the new conroes just to see what theyll take...
