Native Instruments Battery 3 Layering Help

OK so I just sold Reason 6, bought Fl Studio and Komplete 8. Sat down after installing all the discs and tried battery. After fooling around with it for a bit I can see why it is useful but for some reason no matter the "map multiple samples to one cell" option. I just can't get more than one sound into one cell really makes it frustrating, can someone please help?
Thanks

drag and drop from the integrated browser, see the what you have on the mapping tab..If you want filter+adsr per layer just use a new cell per sound and copy and paste the key range.

in options enable 'Load Multiple Samples Into One Cell'.

next drag 2 or more samples to a cell. battery will create a zone for each sample in the mapping tab.

That wouldn't work either so I dragged a sound into the cell then right clicked copy zone and paste zone... little tedious but I wish it was easier. Also does anyone know how to get the automation for battery 3 working in FL10? With the Mpk49?

if that's not working, something is wrong. when that option is enabled each cell supports drag and drop of multiple samples.
  • double check that the option is enabled
  • make sure each sample you are trying to add is suported in battery (battery likes stereo and mono, but not files with 2 channels). you can do this by previewing each one by simply clicking on it.

to automate battery in fl studio

open battery
go to plugin options (top left of window; arrow next to gear)
click make editor thumbnail
in the browser under current project>generators you will see fruity wrapper (battery 3)
drill down to see all available parameters

now there are 2 sets of 128. the first set doesn't have names and is for host automation. you can use 0-127 for any automatable parameter in battery. the named ones are for midi controller cc automation. i'm not sure why they show up like this, but either can be used.

in battery you can either use the learn feature while playing the automation track or you can choose a CC and drag it to the control.

learn method
in fl studio right click on the parameter you wish to automate and choose create automation clip.
draw your automation
in battery right click on a control (attack for example) and click learn.
play the region with the automation

drag/drop method
in battery view MIDI CC and Host automation View>Automation Page
click on host tab
double click id 1
change id to CC you wish to automate
drag the row to the control (knob, button, slider, etc) you wish to automate
rinse and repeat

now all of this seems like a lot, but it isn't. it can be done in seconds. i was just trying to be clear and concise.

also you can use the midi cc tab to learn controls from your midi controller

OK well I tried all that. Got the snapshot thing. But still no recognizing my mpk49 I can see in battery when I turn a knob the music note in the mid top blinks but the knob doesn't pan. What do I do with those 127 things?
