Processing Needed On Top of Superior Drummer Producer Presets?

Howdy all,

Am wondering if any extra processing should be added to Superior Drummer tracks where "producer presets" are already applied? Basically, individual processing has been done on each drum using the stock Toontrack mixer and not with plugins in the DAW. I'm no engineer and I'm really liking the sound I'm getting with the presets as as starting point, but unclear if I'm missing anything great by not adding further EQ, compression, etc. Are the "producer presets" from Toontrack enough or should I be doing something extra on the overall drum track? Please advise and many thanks!

Rob

The obvious answer is "only if it needs it for the mix."

Presets should probably be tweaked, tailored to the music you are making.

Many thanks for the replies. Agreed on tweaking and that's what I do for sure. Like anything else, using the presets as a starting point is often helpful. I guess I could re-phrase the question ... If one uses the processing tools within the Superior Drummer mixer, should they process on the overall drum track/performance?
