logic. help howto configure outputs?

i can't for the life of me figure out how to change my configuration to allow mono outputs on a mon track. it only gives me the choices of stereo groups: out 1-2, out 3-4, etc.

furthermore on stereo tracks i do not have an option of stereo bus outputs, only bus1, bus2, bus3, etc.

this must be a simple setup issue that i can't figure out. it is causing me serious problems with phasing of mono tracks because logic is sending the same mono track to my left and right outputs.

i don't think i know the 'proper' way, but my workaround is to make sure all the output objects are in mono(and correctly assigned in the parameter box, regardless of name in the Environment), and then i remove all output assignments on the tracks(can be done in one swoop by selecting all) and use the sends. for some reason, mono outputs are available in the Send menu.....?

In the Audio Hardware and Drivers panel under the Audio menu in the Arrange page make sure that you have Universal Track Mode selected.

Hi, the busses can be made both mono or stereo, just like any audio track.

Outputs are a different thing. If you want to send to output 1 you'll have to choose output 1-2 and pan hard left (never quite understood why as you can have a mono output object). If you don't want to: set the output to a mono bus and set the output of that bus to output 1-2 and pan that bus hard left... (no escaping that I fear).

As Asher said universal trackmode (audio hardware&drivers) should be on.

cheers

ok, first of all i figured out what the phasing was. it was a return channel on my board that had a reversed phase enabled.

universal track mode is enabled.

i understand that there is a work around which is to make all outputs mono, clear all outputs and reassign, which will allow a mono output. i am interested in a way to have my autoload set up with the ability to send out mono or stereo when applicable without using a workaround.

stereo buses. i think you answered that question in that stereo buses don't have a stereo name(e.g. bus1-2), but are based on my environment. if bus one is stereo in the environment then it will send a stereo bus.

so here is the question...
i have a mono track, i send to bus 1 which is stereo and return that bus to an aux channel that is mono. how is logic treating that stereo bus going into a mono channel? is it combining both sides of the bus or taking one half?
