Thread Starter | Internet Explorer and OSX
So I know Internet Explorer is not supported in OSX but I've got a website I need to access that only works with IE. Am I screwed or is there some older version that's safe with newer versions of OSX ?

doesn't firefox work on that site? I also found some sites that say: sorry you don't have the newest version of netscape. or you don't have the newest version of IE. outdated. And I don't like propriety code on the internet. flash is ok, but when browsing... the website guys want to keep themselves busy, writing the same sites every bl.... year. but generally most sites work with safari or firefox as you undoubtedly found out too. |

maybe you can find an older version on a dvd rom from a computer mag or something. if not workable, send the nerds a mail. it's 2006 not 1996 (!) |

I have Internet Explorer installed... you just need a Mac version of it - the same way as I have Microsoft office as well. I hardly ever use it - just for those very few websites that won't display in Safari. If you don't want to spend the money, try updating your Safari to the latest version (free downlowd). If that doesn't work grab 'Firefox' as suggested above. That's a great browser, that will most likelly be able to display the page, and it's a free download as well. Just google for it. Cheers. |

You can also turn on "debug mode" in safari. It can then fake that it is internet exploder. Sometime it works sometimes not.....
