I am starting a thread where I want and would like people to post screenshots of some of there musical projects; especially the mixer, because I believe that many people could benefit from sitting down analyzing these pictures.
I myself don't have that much experience in producing and mixing. Therefore I imagine that taking a look at how others arrange their mixers, route auxes & busses etc. would do me goood
So, if you feel like it; hook yourself up with one some of your projects and go paparrazzzi on it's ass and post the results here!
Thanks for making this thread I forgot about this track. I did this two years ago and never arranged it but its mixed and good to go. I didn't use many fx here just some onboard EQ and compression on the SSL channel strip in Reason. Its boring but it got the job done.
i think the OP wants an easy way to see how some of us doing our mixing and "mastering".
To the OP...dont worry what other people do and figure it out your own sound.
Mixing, FX, etc is what sets "producers" apart. We all dont want to sound the same do we?

yeah you're totally spot on right. however, i think that it is really helpfull to learn by copying and then modulate the shit out of it to make it my own unique style. but you're right, you gotta know that first so you won't end up avicii's twin
Dude, if you think that the way to learn is to sit in front of a monitor, and look at other people's screenshots, you are doing two things:
1) wasting your time
2) fooling yourself into thinking you can learn this way
That is NOT the way to learn. There are some vids on youtube that you may find useful. There are many othr ways to learn. But a screenshot that you can't relate to anything tangible is just a waste of time. Put your energy elsewhere - you'd be much better off.

Cheers.
You can learn quite a bit from looking at signal chains, looking at knob settings on a synth ect. screen shots can be very helpful if used properly.

but i still have to agree with KevWest; If you have a good set of pictures of a mixer, in say Logic, with busses and whatnot, you can learn a lot about standard routing techniques and how to handle send fx etc.
so why not; i don't think this is anything to become a religious fanatic over but hey, it's pretty rad IMO
'I want to learn how to play the guitar. Can you send me pictures of you playing the guitar please???'
I could definitely learn something about playing guitar from looking at pictures of people playing guitar, like chord shapes, possibly a bit about right hand technique. But i sure as hell know it would be quicker to read a book, or watch a youtube video!
this works best with a linear phase EQ.
efx could go on low/mid/hi out channel strips for multi-band processing...
(the EQ on the 'hi send' channel is doing nothing but delay compensation (linear phase mode))

sweet. that was an awesome pic. just what i wanted. i learnt a lot by looking at how you set up your sends and sub busses. thanks!
if you folks have any more pics like this one; bring it on!
and btw: everybody; just stop it with the smart ass comments saying this method won't work. be a player, not a hater
