Is this as a buisness or personal use, Personal I know loads of U.K based ones but that won't help much! Buisness side goto Global Sources good prices loads of products and will customise as well.

Check out the Antec Take 4 rack mount enclosure, it's the one I'm going to use next time.

Are rackmount cases harder to keep cool & quite, when compared to regular cases?

That case looks nice. Why do you plan on using that case next time? Do you know anyone who has it?

35 lbs seems like alot though.

That case does look superb, and 35# to me = Very high quality but wow its pretty pricey, no?

Well you get a high quality power supply, and fans with it.

that Antec case does indeed look like just the ticket.

questions for everyone:

i only ever hear of people using 4U cases for studio pc's, why not 3U?

and isn't it a bit silly to have one of the cooling fans on the Antec case on the side since it's going to be in a rack and thus probably blocked?!

regards,

richie.

3U won't accomodate some of the Video and PCI cards on the market, nor the Zalman fans most of us use to keep the noise down.

As for the Antec fans, even when racked there is space on the side for airflow.

Antec makes great chassis, highly recommended. Not as nice-looking or studio-driven as the Carillon or Spectral chassis, but a decent off-the-shelf case nonetheless.

Wouldn't steel isolate noise better than aluminum?
