Cheapest way to record 6ins

hi there..
im looking for cheapest soundcard that can provide at least 6ins simultaneously. ive got no idea what to buy. is there any cheaper alternative than emu1212+behringer ADA8000 bundle? well ive got mixer and 2 preamps and dont mind a secondhand soundcard.
im currently using m-audio delta44. another option, can i just buy m-audio audiophile (or other 2ins/2outs cards) and stack them together? and what if i buy m-audio ozone (usb connectivity)? will they fight to each other?

thanks.

p/s.. m-audio/digidesign customer service sucks.

i'd say stick with a firewire interface. I use Presonus firepod and record 8 inputs 2 guitars running through GuitarRig 2, bass and 5 mics on drums. Input 1 and 2 take guitar plugged straight. THe bass amp has a DI out that I plug into input 3. I'd just as good a drum sound with 3 mics.

It has direct monitoring but they want to hear guitar distortion so I use 4 seperate sends to the firepods outputs (8 available) and patch this into a behringer 4 channel headphone amp. THis way each player can have their own mix.

So everyone has headphones. Only the drums are makes noise. But we are playing live. Then we go back and do the vocals seperate.

They are still selling for low four hundreds on ebay. $600 retail but keep asking and you find someone in Guitar Center that will sell it for less than $500.

Personally I think the ADAT interface is soon to be an obselete technology. Somebody tell me why it is better than firewire?

elm....
you might also look at the terratec series.
ive seen a number of positive comments about them on various forums.
heres the link.

heres a reference on powertracks that i use from the university of wisconsin.

one of many in case your looking for software to go with a soundcard.
thttp://www.online.uwc.edu/Academics/CourseList/MUS170/TechReq.
notice the most powerfull at the best price comment.
its worked with any system or soundcard ive thrown at it.
if you have the money i would seriously look also at RME and Lynx sound cards.

guys, thanks for the responses. i'd really appreaciate it.
all suggestions are pretty much out of question. cranesong,digi192,RME or even emu1616 arent options for now. id really love to become a real slut, but i just cant afford yet. thinking of sometime next year to get i88x. but that's next year.

as i said before, since im currently using m-audio delta44, can i just buy m-audio audiophile (or other 2ins/2outs cards) and stack them together? and what if i buy m-audio ozone (usb connectivity) to be used with my delta 44? will they fight to each other? has anybody experienced the same kinda issue here?

thanks.
