Thread Starter | Pitch & Time-Stretching Software Choices??
Hello. I am looking to purchase software for pitch-adjustment and time-stretching capability. There seem to be three products on the market, and I cannot get all three demoed, but they are: Waves SoundShifter Serato Pitch 'n Time Pro Celemony Melodyne3 Studio Does anyone have experience with these programs and care to comment on their sound and usefulness? Thanks. J.D.

Pitch 'n Time and Speed are both pretty good.

Melodyne is easy, has a great interface, sounds good, makes perfect sense musically when using it. Waves is okay but much less powerful. Haven't used serrato.

justice... powertracks that i use has these features in ...but ive never used them mutch except for fixing the occasional vocal note pitch. pgmusic.com for demo. its 50 buks and is a complete recording/multitracking/midi software studio. give it a try sometime. the range of recording features is very vast.

I logged on tonight to find an answer to the same question. Only, I have logic 7.2 so I've used Pitch & Time plenty and all I can say is that I'm seriously looking for something else. The time stretching is atrocious beyond 1 or 2 bpm. I used to work on Nuendo and it had absolutely excellent time stretch built-in. I'm seriously considering buying Melodyn becasue the Serato is just not cuttin' it.

For time stretching, Wavelab 6.0 is excellent.

how do you guys like this software? on first listen IMO it is a formidable competitor to Pitch 'N Time and SPEED.... haven't had the chance to use Waves' SoundShifter... it's great that Digi has released these two free tools lately (meaning Time Shift and the Inspection tools)... negates the need to spend hundreds on 3rd party software!
