Thread Starter | Wild & crazy plug-ins for mixing
We are mostly an analog mix room but also have many plug-ins. I'm interested in what plug-ins you guys use that are really radical as opposed to just emulations. For instance I was looking at Izotopes Trash which looks like it can do some crazy stuff.
I'm looking for plugs that can really change an instrument.
Thanks guys-

Still use Deep Freq and Deep Reconstructions for NI's Kore Player. They seem to have discontinued them for some reason, I was told they would be back ...

Ubermod is great also!

Yes Ubermod is cool, more useful to me than VRoom which I find quite thin sounding. I'm having a good time demoing Vintage reverb though.

| I guess probably just different sonic-wise. SoundToys emulates old analog stuff very well, in sound and behaviour. While digital stuff sounds perfect/crisp.
When i started geting into ITB EDM i was really bored with all plugs and never bothered with SoundToys thinking it was hype and would be the same as every other brand. But when tried them, it was MAGICAL, i felt like playing with the full room of analog hardware i had from my guitar days. It was sonically very similar and could get CRAZY like most of those old hardware allowed.

Most people know it for the synths and beatboxen, but there are many wild effects available through Reaktor, and its immense User Library.
Reaktor runs as a plugin (iirc, VST, AU, RTAS) in addition to being a stand alone app. I quite like some of the granular delays, and the reverbs have their own character. Many of the other audio-mulching ones are so whacked out I can't describe them...
