| Powerbook Speaker problem Hey guys. a few days ago my Apple PB 17" 1.67GHZ stopped playing audio via the internal speakers.. I did not do ANYTHING different to bring this on. I know that sometimes when opening reason it will switch my sudio setup prefs to 96K output which quicktime wont play at. and i have to go into audio/midi setup to correct. However. I am still at 44.1 in the setup window. It will play through headphones but if I unplug them no sound. at first everything in my sound preferences window looked correct until I realized it says Digital output instead of built-in speakers.. and I noticed that where the headphone jack is there is a laser light shining out. ta-da I found the culprit.... the digital audio/headphone combination jack is overriding the internal speakers. It seems that when headphones are plugged in it realizes that theres headphones, when unplugged it switches to digital.. I need to know how to change it out of digital, I cannot switch it in the sound prefs window. Computer is almost 1 year old. i donot have apple care nor would i like to spend $100 for them to tell me that i just have to change one (most likely hidden) preference and bam it works again.... when my computer switched to the 96k thing i called and the rep told me that he knows what my problem is most likely and could tell me how to fix it, but I'd be better off searching google because it'd cost me $100 for them to change one preference. that's when i found out what the audio/midi setup was doing. PLEASE HELP>>>>>
